The Donegal Centre for Independent Living (where I work) launched their three year strategic plan yesterday in Letterkenny. There was a great turnout, and it was a lovely afternoon. The purpose of the event was also to show our new video, about what independent living means to us in Donegal.
I appologise in advance, but this video (apart from the version of Bon Jovi’s ‘it’s my life’ sung by fifteen- year-old Caitlin McLaughlin) isn’t very accessible to blind people. It’s a series of photographs of people (mostly who have disabilities) holding slogans about what independent living means to them. The photos were taken in different areas of Donegal.
Myself and O.J are in the video briefly. I’m not even sure if you can see him, but trust me, he’s there!
Check out the video. If you like it, leave a comment or pass it on.
And just for curiosity, what does independent living mean to you?
